Revel’s El Jefe Grande moves its titanium hardtail platform to 32-inch wheels. Developed from the Concept Labs prototypes shown at Sea Otter, the production frame uses revised geometry and a 3D-printed head tube designed around the demands of the larger wheel format.

Not every size uses the same wheels

Medium, large and extra-large frames use 32-inch wheels at both ends. Small pairs a 32-inch front with a 29-inch rear. The frame is designed around a 100 mm fork with a 550 mm axle-to-crown measurement.

A 3D-printed titanium head tube is welded into the frame. Revel says the design helps provide the strength and stiffness needed where a long fork meets a short head tube. A large frame is quoted at 2.16 kg. The supplied release gives conflicting complete-bike weight units, so no complete weight is repeated here.

Everyday hardtail details

Sliding UDH-compatible dropouts provide 17 mm adjustment for rear-centre changes or singlespeed chain tension. Rear spacing is Boost 12 × 148 mm. The frame uses a 73 mm BSA threaded bottom bracket, a 31.6 mm seatpost and five sets of bottle or accessory mounts on every size.

The stated maximum chainring is 34 teeth. Rear brake mounting starts at 160 mm, with a maximum 180 mm rotor. Rear tyre clearance is 32 × 2.4 inches on medium through extra-large and 29 × 2.6 inches on small.

Frame-only launch

Announced pricing is ≈ R58 546 or ≈ R66 668, with reservation deposits of ≈ R8 366 or ≈ R11 115 respectively. The October release targets frame shipping in December 2026; that is an announced schedule, not a confirmed delivery promise.

For South African riders interested in the big-wheel idea, check compatible fork, tyre and wheel supply before focusing only on the frame. Local stock, rand pricing and warranty handling were not established. This remains a launch overview rather than an MTBSA ride assessment.
